Golf on Zeetius
Zeetius gives golf clubs, academies and federations one place to run their events, members and coaching. Organisers publish competitions, take entries, divide fields and plan the start sheet, scores are entered live as the round is played and followed on the Zeetius live score page, and results become orders of merit and certificates while Zeetius Academy and Zeetius Federation look after juniors, coaches and members.
Listings, online entries and payments, divisions by handicap or age, start sheets, live scoring and certificates for every competitor.
Stroke play, match play and Stableford events, gross and net, with the format and the handicap allowance set per competition.
Memberships, renewals, academy batches and coaching are kept with each player's competition history.
Competition formats
Golf competitions come in a few formats, and most club and federation calendars use all of them. In stroke play every stroke over the round counts, and the lowest total wins, gross or net of handicap. In match play two players or two sides compete hole by hole, and the match goes to the side that wins more holes, often before the last hole is played.
Stableford scores points on every hole against par once handicap strokes are applied, so a poor hole costs a player only that hole rather than the whole round. It suits club competitions and mixed-ability fields, because a high-handicap golfer and a low-handicap golfer can compete on equal terms in the same event.
On Zeetius, the format, the number of rounds, the handicap allowance and the tie rules are chosen for each competition by the organiser. Team formats such as fourballs, foursomes and scrambles vary widely between clubs, so if your calendar uses them, talk to us about how you score them and we will discuss setting them up.
Event management
A golf event starts with a listing and an entry list. Zeetius Tournaments publishes a page for each competition with its dates, venue, divisions and rules, takes entries and payments online and checks eligibility as golfers register, so the secretary is not chasing entry forms and fees in the week before the event.
Fields are usually divided before the first tee time. Divisions by handicap band, age group or gender are set per event, and each division keeps its own results. Junior championships, seniors' events and open competitions can run on the same day with separate prizes, from a single entry system.
Match play championships use a knockout draw instead of a single field. Zeetius Tournaments generates seeded brackets from qualifying scores or rankings, keeps the bracket current as matches are played and publishes each round, so players know their next opponent and the date by which the match must be played.
Scheduling
Golf schedules work differently from court sports. Instead of a queue of matches on a court, a field is sent out in groups at intervals from one or two tees, or all at once from different holes in a shotgun start. The start sheet sets who plays with whom and when, and it has to work around junior players, pace of play and any requested pairings.
Schedules in Zeetius are configurable, so the way an event sends its field out is set by the organiser rather than fixed by the software. If your events need a particular arrangement, such as tee intervals, two-tee starts, a shotgun start or a cut after the opening rounds, talk to us and we will discuss how it can be set up for your calendar.
Live scoring and results
Golf on Zeetius is scored live on the Zeetius multi-sport scoresheet. Tournament officials and scorers on the course enter scores as holes are completed, and the scoresheet is set up for the event's holes, rounds and format. Players, members, parents and coaches who are not walking with a group follow the competition as it happens at zeetius.com/live/livescore, where golf can be chosen from the sport filter.
When the round is over and the scores are checked, the same scores become the competition's official results by division, so nobody retypes scorecards into a spreadsheet in the clubhouse. Every participant receives a certificate generated in bulk from the results, and prizes for gross, net and Stableford winners in each division are read straight from the same record.
Across a season, results become rankings. Zeetius Federation prepares rank lists from real results by age group and division, which is how a golf federation or club runs an order of merit, a junior ranking or a selection list for county and national squads. Every ranking can be traced back to the events that produced it, from the live score to the final placing.
Coaching and juniors
Golf academies develop players over many years, often from a junior group at a club through to county and national squads. Zeetius Academy manages athletes, batches, training plans, attendance and assessments, so a head professional can see each junior's progress and plan the next term's coaching from real records.
Fees, coach payroll and expense claims sit in the same system as the coaching. Parents see their own child's attendance, assessments and fees, and nothing else, while coaches record sessions from the mobile app on the range or the course instead of copying notes into a spreadsheet afterwards.
Zet AI answers questions about an academy's own data, such as which juniors have attended most consistently or which group is due its next assessment. Coaches and academies can also list in the Zeetius Sports Directory, where players and parents looking for golf coaching nearby can find them.
Clubs, memberships and federations
Golf runs on membership. Zeetius Federation registers players, clubs and officials once and keeps them current through renewals, transfers and seasons, with membership cards and a complete history for every member. Fees are paid online through secure payment gateways and recorded against the member, with renewal reminders sent by email and SMS.
A golf union or federation usually works through regions and clubs. Each tier can have its own access, so a club manages its own members while the federation sees every player and every sanctioned event in one view. Referees and rules officials are accredited, nominated and allocated to events from the same record.
Multi-day championships bring players, caddies, officials and guests to one venue. Zeetius Connect accredits them online before they arrive and manages accommodation, meals and transport, with QR validation for entry and coupons, so the people side of a championship runs alongside the competition itself.
