Pickleball on Zeetius
Zeetius runs pickleball tournaments and venues: entries by skill level and age bracket, pool and knockout draws, live scoring that handles side-out and rally formats, and court booking that keeps open play and events on the same calendar. Every match scored on court appears on the public live scores, draws and results pages.
The scoring app follows the serving team, the second server and the three-number call, or switches to rally scoring when the event uses it.
Doubles, mixed doubles and singles events split by skill rating and age, each with its own draw.
Courtz by Zeetius blocks tournament courts automatically and gives them back to open play when the event finishes early.
Competition structure
Pickleball tournaments are organised around brackets rather than a single open draw. Events are men's and women's doubles, mixed doubles and singles, and each is usually split by skill level and by age, for example an open bracket, several rated levels and senior age groups. A weekend tournament can hold dozens of brackets on the same set of courts.
Zeetius Tournaments gives each bracket its own entries, eligibility and draw while keeping one record per player. A player entered in both mixed doubles and gender doubles appears once, so the scheduler can see both sets of matches and avoid putting them on court at the same time.
Players enrol and pay online on a listing page built for the event. Doubles partners enter together, and each bracket's skill and age rules are set by the organiser, so the event can follow whichever rating system or age bands your club or association uses.
Draws and scheduling
Pickleball events use several draw formats. Round-robin pools give every team several matches, which players value at club and recreational level, and they are often followed by a knockout playoff. Other brackets run as straight single elimination with seeds and byes. Zeetius Tournaments generates each format and lets the director adjust the draw before it is published.
Pool standings are calculated from the results as matches finish, so the teams going through to the playoff are known as soon as the pool is complete. Seeds can come from your own ranking list or from the ratings used to place players in their brackets.
With many short matches across many courts, a pickleball schedule needs constant attention. The scheduler respects rest times and player clashes between brackets, and when one court falls behind, matches can be moved to a free court and the change is visible to players straight away.
Live scoring
Traditional pickleball uses side-out scoring. Only the serving team can win a point, games are commonly played to 11 and won by two, and some events play to 15 or 21. In doubles both partners serve before the serve passes to the other team, except at the start of the game, when the first serving team has only one server. The score is called as three numbers: the serving team's score, the receiving team's score and the server number.
Rally scoring, where a point is won on every rally whoever serves, is also used in a number of pickleball competitions. Because both systems are in use, Zeetius treats the scoring format as configurable for each event: side-out or rally scoring, the points target, the winning margin and the number of games in a match.
Arena by Zeetius captures each rally on the Umpire Assist tablet app. Under side-out scoring the app keeps track of the serving team, the first or second server and the three-number call, so the referee records only who won the rally. Each point is published to /live/livescore as it happens, and finished matches move to /live/results and update the bracket on /live/draws.
Court booking
Most pickleball is not played in tournaments. It is booked social play, open-play sessions, coaching and leagues, and a venue's revenue depends on how many of its court-hours are actually used. Courtz by Zeetius shows live availability on a phone, takes recurring and block bookings for regular groups and returns unconfirmed bookings to the pool on a timer the venue sets.
Prices can vary by time band, day, member tier or booking length, so evening and weekend courts can be priced differently from quiet weekday afternoons. Utilisation reports show the share of court-hours sold by slot, day and month.
When the venue hosts an event on Zeetius Tournaments, the courts it needs are blocked in Courtz automatically and released if the event finishes early. Academies running pickleball coaching can book their batch courts through Courtz too, so training, open play and tournaments share one calendar.
Clubs, academies and associations
As pickleball grows, clubs and associations need the same administration as older racquet sports: member registration, sanctioned events, rankings and qualified officials. Zeetius Federation keeps one record for each player, club and official, with renewals, transfers and payments handled online.
Results from sanctioned tournaments can feed ranking lists directly, and certificates are generated for every participant from the results. An association can publish its calendar, draws and rankings on its own website without retyping any of it.
Zeetius Academy supports coaching programmes with batches, attendance, assessments and fees, so an academy can see which players are progressing and which need attention. Players and parents looking for a coach or a venue can find them in the Zeetius Sports Directory.
Streaming and events
Ztream by Zeetius streams several courts at once, with the live score and graphics taken straight from the scoring app. When a court has a stream mapped for the day, its live score card shows a YouTube badge, so spectators following the scores can watch that court from the same page.
Larger pickleball events bring players from several cities, often across a long weekend. Zeetius Connect accredits players and officials online before they arrive and uses QR codes for entry, meals and transport, and its expense tracker records event spending as it happens.
After the event, every match's score and result stays on the player's record. The next tournament's seeding and the club's rankings therefore start from real results rather than memory, and certificates for every participant can be generated in bulk from the same results before the players have left the venue.
