Archery on Zeetius

Archery tournament software and live scoring

Zeetius gives archery organisers, clubs and federations one place to run competitions and archers. Entries are taken by bow style, gender and age, archers are allocated to targets, matches are scored live on zeetius.com, and results become rankings, records and certificates, while Zeetius Academy and Zeetius Federation look after coaching and membership across the season.

Recurve and compound side by side

Each bow style, gender and age category keeps its own entries, distances, brackets and results within one championship.

Ranking round to final

Ranking round positions seed the head-to-head brackets, with the match format set for each division by the organiser.

Archers in one record

Membership, coaching, competition history and rankings are kept together for every archer, club and coach.

Competition formats

Recurve and compound archery competitions

Target archery is shot in two main bow styles. The recurve bow is the Olympic discipline, while the compound bow uses a system of cables and cams and is shot with a release aid and a magnifying sight. The two are always separate divisions, and most championships also separate archers by gender and age, so a single event can hold a dozen or more categories on the same field.

Distances and target faces depend on the bow style and the category. At senior level outdoors, recurve archers usually shoot at 70 metres and compound archers at 50 metres, while juniors, cadets and younger archers often shoot shorter distances. Indoor competitions are commonly shot at 18 metres. Many calendars also include barebow events and, in some countries, national rounds of their own.

On Zeetius, the organiser sets each category's bow style, distance, age band and number of arrows, so the platform follows your rule book rather than a fixed template. Team events, including teams of three and mixed teams of one woman and one man, are set up as their own categories with their own entries and brackets.

  • Recurve. The Olympic bow style, shot over the set system in head-to-head matches at most championships.
  • Compound. A separate division with its own distances and target faces, usually decided on cumulative score.
  • Age and gender categories. Under-15, under-18, under-21, senior and masters bands, each configured with its own distance.

Entries and targets

Archery competition entries and target allocation

An archery tournament starts with an entry list. Zeetius Tournaments publishes a listing page for each competition with its dates, venue, categories and rules, takes entries and payments online and checks eligibility as archers register, so a club secretary or federation office is not matching paper forms against membership records in the final week.

Before the ranking round, every archer needs a target. Archers are usually allocated several to a target butt and shoot in turn, and an organiser often wants to separate archers from the same club or keep a category together on the line. Allocations are configurable on Zeetius, so the field can be laid out the way your championship and your venue require.

Technical officials are part of the same plan. Zeetius Tournaments nominates and allocates judges to the competition, and Zeetius Federation keeps the record of each judge's accreditation, so the organiser knows which officials are qualified for a national or state event.

Ranking round and eliminations

Ranking rounds and head-to-head elimination brackets

Most outdoor championships begin with a ranking round, in which every archer shoots a set number of arrows, commonly 72 at a senior event, and the total decides each archer's position. That position becomes the seed for the elimination stage, so the highest-ranked archers meet the lowest-ranked in the first round of matches.

Recurve matches use the set system. Each set is three arrows per archer, the archer with the higher set score takes two set points, a tied set gives one point each, and the first to six set points wins. A match level at five points each is decided by a single-arrow shoot-off, with the arrow closest to the centre winning. Compound matches are usually decided on the total of fifteen arrows across five ends.

Zeetius Tournaments generates seeded brackets from the ranking round results, places byes where the field is not a full bracket and publishes each round as it is completed. The match format, the number of arrows and the shoot-off rule are set per category by the organiser, so recurve, compound and team brackets can run to different rules in the same tournament.

  • Seeding from the ranking round. Ranking round positions become bracket seeds, with byes placed for the top archers when the field requires them.
  • Set system or cumulative score. The match format is chosen per category, following the rules of the event.
  • Team brackets. Teams of three and mixed teams are seeded from their combined ranking round scores.

Live scoring and results

Archery live scoring, results, rankings and certificates

Archery is scored live on Zeetius. Officials at the shooting line enter each end on the Zeetius multi-sport scoresheet, which is set up for the category's ends, arrows and match format, and the match appears on the public live score page at zeetius.com/live/livescore, filterable by sport. Archers, coaches, parents and team managers can follow the scores as they are entered.

When the judges confirm the scores, the live record becomes the official result, published by category from the ranking round order through to the medal matches. Every participant receives a certificate generated in bulk from those results, so a championship with hundreds of archers does not end with an evening of handwriting certificates.

Across a season, results become rankings. Zeetius Federation prepares rank lists from real results by bow style, age group and gender, which is how an archery federation selects squads, seeds its next championship or recognises consistent performers. Each ranking position can be traced to the events that produced it, and records set at sanctioned events are kept in the same history.

Clubs and coaching

Archery club and academy management

Archers take years to develop, usually starting on lighter bows at short distances and moving up as their strength and form improve. Zeetius Academy manages athletes, batches, training plans, attendance and assessments, so a head coach can see where each archer is in that progression and plan the next block of training from real records.

Fees, coach payroll and expense claims sit in the same system as the coaching. Parents see their own child's attendance, assessments and fees, and nothing else, while coaches record sessions on the mobile app at the range rather than writing notes to type up afterwards. Clubs with more than one range or centre can manage each separately and see the organisation as a whole.

Zet AI answers questions about an academy's own data, such as which archers have trained most consistently this term or which group is due its next assessment. Archery coaches and clubs can also list in the Zeetius Sports Directory, where beginners and parents looking for a club nearby can find them.

Federations and championships

Archery federation and association software

An archery federation registers archers, clubs and judges, sanctions events and publishes rankings. Zeetius Federation registers each member once and keeps them current through renewals, transfers and seasons, with membership cards and a complete history. Fees are paid online through secure payment gateways and recorded against the member, with renewal reminders sent by email and SMS.

Most archery bodies work through state, district and club tiers. Each tier can have its own access on Zeetius, so a club manages its own archers while the federation sees every member and every sanctioned event in one view. Judges are accredited, nominated and allocated from the same record, and the office can report on membership and participation without building a spreadsheet.

National championships bring archers, team officials, judges and guests to one venue for several days. Zeetius Connect accredits them online before they arrive and manages accommodation, meals and transport, with QR validation for entry and coupons. Ztream by Zeetius can stream the finals, with highlights ready to share while the event is still running.

FAQ

Archery on Zeetius: questions, answered

Something else on your mind? Talk to our team.

Can Zeetius run recurve and compound events in the same tournament?

Yes. Each bow style, gender and age category is set up as its own category, with its own distance, entries, brackets and results, so recurve, compound and barebow events can run in the same championship.

How are elimination brackets seeded?

Brackets are seeded from the ranking round results, with byes placed where the field is not a full bracket. The match format, including the set system or cumulative scoring and the shoot-off rule, is set per category by the organiser.

Can archers be allocated to targets?

Yes. Target allocation is configurable, so an organiser can lay out the field by category, keep archers from the same club apart or follow the venue's layout. Tell us how your events allocate targets and we will discuss setting it up.

Can archery be scored live on Zeetius?

Yes. Officials enter each end on the Zeetius multi-sport scoresheet, set up for the category's arrows and match format, and the match appears live on zeetius.com/live/livescore to follow. Confirmed scores become the official results, which feed certificates and season rankings in Zeetius Federation.

Can an archery federation manage its members and judges on Zeetius?

Yes. Zeetius Federation handles registration, renewals, membership cards and online payments for archers and clubs, and accredits, nominates and allocates judges to sanctioned events, with each tier of the federation working on its own members.

Does Zeetius work for an archery club or academy?

Yes. Zeetius Academy manages archers, training batches, plans, attendance, assessments, fees and coach payroll, and parents see their own child's progress and fees through the same system.
