Shooting on Zeetius

Shooting competition software and live scoring

Zeetius gives shooting organisers, ranges and federations one place to run their championships and their shooters. Entries are taken by event and category, shooters are allocated to relays and firing points or to shotgun squads, scores are followed live on the Zeetius live score page, and results become rankings, records and certificates across rifle, pistol and shotgun.

Rifle, pistol and shotgun

Every event and category keeps its own entries, relays, qualification and finals within one championship.

Relays planned, not improvised

Shooters are allocated to relays and firing points, or to shotgun squads, the way your range and rules require.

Results that become rankings

Confirmed scores are published by event and category and feed season rankings, records and certificates.

Disciplines and events

Rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting events

Shooting sport is organised into three disciplines. Rifle and pistol events are shot at fixed targets on ranges at 10, 25 and 50 metres, from the 10 metre air rifle and air pistol events that most shooters start with to the 50 metre rifle three positions and the 25 metre pistol events. Shotgun events, such as trap and skeet, are shot at clay targets thrown from traps.

A national championship can hold a long list of events, each split by gender and by age group, and many shooters enter more than one. Calendars also include mixed team events, team events built from individual scores and para shooting classes, and national bodies often add events and categories of their own alongside the international programme.

On Zeetius, the organiser sets each event's discipline, distance, number of shots, age band and team rules, so the platform follows your rule book rather than a fixed template. A shooter can enter several events in one registration, and each event keeps its own start list, results and medals.

  • Rifle. Air rifle and smallbore events, including prone and three positions, configured by distance and shot count.
  • Pistol. Air pistol, 25 metre and 50 metre events, each with its own course of fire.
  • Shotgun. Trap, skeet and other clay events, shot in squads across a series of rounds.

Entries and eligibility

Shooting championship entries and categories

A shooting championship starts with a large entry list spread across many events. Zeetius Tournaments publishes a listing page for each championship with its dates, range, events and rules, takes entries and payments online and checks eligibility as shooters register, so the organising office is not reconciling paper forms and bank transfers in the final week.

Categories in shooting usually follow age bands such as youth, junior and senior, with gender separating most events and masters or veterans categories at some championships. Each category is configured with its own age rules on Zeetius, and a shooter's date of birth and membership are checked against them at entry.

Many championships also use qualifying scores or earlier results to decide who may enter a higher-level event. Where a federation sets such conditions, the entry rules can be set per event, and Zeetius Federation holds the past results that the conditions depend on, so eligibility can be checked against a shooter's record rather than a declaration.

Range scheduling

Relays, firing points and shotgun squads

A range has a fixed number of firing points, and a large event is shot in relays, sometimes called details, each one filling the line for its allotted time. The organiser has to fit every event and category into the available relays across the days of the championship, keep shooters who have entered several events from being called to two relays at once and leave time for the finals.

Shotgun events are scheduled differently. Shooters are grouped into squads, usually of up to six, and each squad moves through the stations of a layout for each round, with rounds spread across the days of the competition. Squad lists and layout allocations have to be published before the first round so every shooter knows where and when to report.

Schedules on Zeetius are configurable, so relays, firing point allocations, squads and finals are arranged the way your range and your rules require. If your championship needs a particular arrangement, such as separate relays by category or squads that keep clubs apart, talk to us and we will discuss how it can be set up for your calendar.

  • Relay plans. Events and categories fitted into the relays available across each day of the championship.
  • Firing point allocation. Each shooter's relay and firing point published before the competition starts.
  • Squads. Shotgun squads and their layouts, round by round, with no clashes for shooters in several events.

Qualification and finals

Qualification rounds and finals

Most international-style events begin with a qualification round. In the 10 metre air rifle and air pistol events, for example, shooters fire 60 shots, and the highest totals go through to the final, commonly the top eight. Finals are usually scored in decimals, rifle qualification is scored in decimals at many championships too, and pistol qualification is counted in whole rings.

Finals are shot from a fresh start, with the lowest-placed shooters eliminated in stages until the medals are decided. Shotgun finals follow their own elimination format. Ties in qualification are broken by rules such as inner tens or the scores of the last series, and the rules vary by discipline and by the level of the event.

On Zeetius, the qualification length, the number of finalists and the tie rules are set per event by the organiser, and the start list for the final follows from the confirmed qualification results, so finalists know where and when they shoot as soon as qualification ends.

Live scoring and results

Shooting live scoring, results and rankings

Shooting on Zeetius is scored live on the Zeetius multi-sport scoresheet, set up for each event's series, rounds and finals. Results officials at the range enter scores as each stage is completed, and shooters' families, clubs and coaches follow the championship at zeetius.com/live/livescore, filtered by sport. Once the jury confirms them, the same scores become the official results by event and category, with certificates generated in bulk for every participant.

Across a season, results become rankings. Zeetius Federation prepares rank lists from real results by event, age group and gender, which is how a shooting federation selects national squads, sets qualifying standards or recognises consistent performers. Each ranking position can be traced to the competitions that produced it, and national records set at sanctioned events can be kept in the same history.

Technical officials are part of the same record. Range officers, jury members and results officials are accredited, nominated and allocated to championships from Zeetius Federation and Zeetius Tournaments, so the organiser can see which officials hold the right qualification for each event before appointments are confirmed.

Clubs, academies and federations

Shooting club, academy and federation software

A shooting federation registers shooters, clubs, ranges and officials, sanctions events and publishes rankings. Zeetius Federation registers each member once and keeps them current through renewals, transfers and seasons, with membership cards and a complete history. Fees are paid online and recorded against the member, with renewal reminders sent by email and SMS, and each state, district and club tier can have its own access.

Shooting clubs and academies develop shooters over many years, usually starting with air rifle or air pistol. Zeetius Academy manages athletes, batches, training plans, attendance and assessments, with fees, coach payroll and claims in the same system. Parents see their own child's attendance, assessments and fees, and Zet AI answers questions about the academy's own data.

National championships bring shooters, team officials, jury members and guests to one venue for many days. Zeetius Connect accredits them online before they arrive and manages accommodation, meals and transport, with QR validation for entry and coupons. Ztream by Zeetius can stream the finals, and clubs and coaches can list in the Zeetius Sports Directory.

Can a shooting federation manage its members and officials on Zeetius?

Yes. Zeetius Federation handles registration, renewals, membership cards and online payments for shooters and clubs, and accredits, nominates and allocates range officers, jury members and other officials to sanctioned events.
