Cycling on Zeetius
Zeetius gives cycling organisers, clubs and federations one place to run their races, riders and season. Organisers publish road, track and mountain bike events, take entries, build categories and start lists, and publish results as soon as the commissaires confirm them, while Zeetius Federation and Zeetius Academy look after licences, rankings and young riders across the year.
Road races, time trials, track events and mountain bike races, each with its own categories, rules and start lists.
Online entries and payments, with eligibility checked against age category and membership as riders register.
Confirmed results by category become rankings, certificates and a complete history for every rider.
Race formats
Cycling is several sports under one federation. On the road, a mass-start race sends the whole field off together and the first rider across the line wins, while an individual time trial sends riders off one at a time at fixed intervals and the fastest time over the course wins. Criteriums race short laps of a closed circuit, and team time trials ride against the clock as a unit.
Track cycling runs on a velodrome and mixes timed events with bunch races. Sprints and keirins are decided head to head or in small heats, pursuits are ridden against the clock, and bunch races such as the scratch race, points race, elimination and madison are decided by finishing order or points. An omnium combines several of these into one result.
Mountain biking has its own formats again, from cross-country laps on a technical circuit to downhill runs timed one rider at a time. On Zeetius, the discipline, the number of rounds or heats, the category structure and the way a result is decided are set by the organiser for each event, so one calendar can hold all of them.
Entries and categories
A cycling event starts with a listing and an entry list. Zeetius Tournaments publishes a page for each race with its date, venue, course, categories and rules, takes entries and payments online and checks eligibility as riders register, so the organiser is not matching paper forms to bank transfers in the days before the start.
Cycling fields are divided by age and gender, and often by ability. Youth, junior, under-23, elite and masters categories are common, though the exact age bands and ability grades vary by federation, so they are configurable for each event. Each category keeps its own entry list, start order and results, and several categories can share one course on the same day.
Many races are open only to licensed riders. Because Zeetius Federation holds every rider's membership and age, an entry can be checked against the rider's current licence and category as they register, and a rider whose membership has lapsed is reminded to renew before race day rather than turned away at sign-on.
Start lists and scheduling
Race day in cycling is built around the start list. A road race needs each category's riders and race numbers confirmed before the flag drops, and an event with several categories on one course has to space their start times so that fields do not catch one another. A time trial needs a start order and a start time for every rider, usually at regular intervals.
Start lists in Zeetius are produced from the confirmed entries, and the start order can follow the organiser's rules, whether that is a ranking, a seeding, a random draw or the reverse order of a previous classification. Track meetings need a programme of heats and finals across a single velodrome, so the order of events and the rest between a rider's races can be planned in advance.
Technical officials are central to a cycling event. Commissaires, finish judges and other officials are accredited, nominated and allocated to races from the same record in Zeetius Tournaments and Zeetius Federation, so the chief commissaire knows who is on duty at every race and every official's appointments are kept in one history.
Results and rankings
Cycling results are published as soon as the commissaires confirm them, by category, with every finisher's placing and time or points. Riders, clubs and parents can see the outcome on the event page without waiting for a sheet to be pinned up at the finish, and every participant receives a certificate generated in bulk from the results.
Stage races add up across several days. The general classification is decided by each rider's cumulative time across the stages, and many events also run points, mountains and youth classifications. The classifications a stage race uses and how they are calculated are configurable for each event. Live scoring for your cycling format can be discussed with our team.
Across a season, results become rankings. Zeetius Federation prepares rank lists from real results by category and discipline, which is how a cycling federation runs a national ranking, a series standing or a selection list for national squads, with ranking points awarded by the scale the federation sets and every position traceable to its races.
Clubs and young riders
Young cyclists are developed by clubs and academies over many seasons, from first rides on closed circuits through to junior racing. Zeetius Academy manages riders, training groups, training plans, attendance and assessments, so a coach can see each rider's progress and plan the next block of training from real records rather than memory.
Fees, coach payroll and expense claims sit in the same system as the coaching. Parents see their own child's attendance, assessments and fees, and nothing else, while coaches record sessions from the mobile app at the track or the club ride instead of copying notes into a spreadsheet afterwards.
Zet AI answers questions about an academy's own data, such as which riders have trained most consistently this term or which group is due its next assessment. Clubs and coaches can also list in the Zeetius Sports Directory, where riders and parents looking for cycling coaching nearby can find them.
Licences, events and broadcast
Cycling federations run on licences. Zeetius Federation registers riders, clubs, teams and officials once and keeps them current through renewals, transfers and seasons, with membership cards and a complete history for every member. Licence fees are paid online through secure payment gateways and recorded against the rider, with renewal reminders sent by email and SMS.
A federation usually works through regional bodies and clubs, and each tier can have its own access. A club manages its own riders, a region sanctions its own races, and the federation sees every licence holder and every sanctioned event in one view, with membership, participation and revenue reports at a glance.
National championships and stage races bring riders, team staff, officials and guests together for several days. Zeetius Connect accredits them online before they arrive and manages accommodation, meals and transport, with QR validation for entry and coupons, and Ztream by Zeetius can stream races with graphics, interviews and highlights for sponsors and supporters.
