Triathlon on Zeetius
A triathlon is three races and two transitions, held on open roads and open water, with hundreds of athletes in different categories starting in waves. Zeetius gives race organisers, clubs and federations one place to take entries, build categories and start waves, accredit athletes and officials, publish results by category and keep rankings across a season.

Race distances
Triathlon combines a swim, a bike leg and a run, completed one after another with the clock running through both transitions. The sprint distance is commonly a 750 metre swim, a 20 kilometre ride and a 5 kilometre run, and the standard distance doubles that to 1.5 kilometres, 40 kilometres and 10 kilometres. Middle and long distance races go much further.
Most triathlon events offer more than one race. A single weekend may include a standard distance race, a sprint for newer athletes, junior and youth races over shorter courses and a team relay. Zeetius Tournaments lets an organiser build each race with its own distances, categories, entry limit and fee, under one event listing.
Related multisport formats follow the same pattern. Duathlons replace the swim with a first run, and aquathlons combine a swim and a run, and many triathlon clubs and federations run them alongside their triathlons. Each format is set up as its own race, so athletes can enter whichever combination the event offers.
Entries and categories
Triathlon entries are open to a wide range of athletes, from first-timers to elite competitors. Zeetius Tournaments publishes a listing page with every race, its distances, its course information and its rules, and athletes enter and pay online. Eligibility is checked as athletes register, including age, category and any membership or licence the race requires.
Age-group racing is central to triathlon. Age-group categories are often five-year bands, with separate men's and women's results, alongside elite, junior and paratriathlon categories. The categories, the date on which age is calculated and any qualification criteria are set by the organiser for each race rather than fixed by the software.
Relay teams enter together. A club or a group of friends registers a team, names the athletes who will swim, ride and run, and confirms the line-up before the deadline. Each athlete keeps one profile across their individual races and their relays, so their triathlon history stays complete from season to season.
Start waves and transitions
Large triathlons rarely start everyone at once. Athletes are grouped into waves by category, gender or expected swim time, and each wave starts at a set interval so the swim course does not become crowded. On Zeetius, the waves, their order and their start times are set by the organiser, and athletes can see their wave as soon as it is published.
Transitions are part of the race. In the first transition athletes change from the swim to the bike, and in the second from the bike to the run, so the transition area needs racking for every bike, clear check-in times and enough officials to watch it. Start lists and wave allocations give the race team a single list to plan check-in and racking from.
Technical officials in triathlon watch the swim, the transitions, the bike course and the run, and apply the rules on drafting, equipment and conduct. Zeetius Tournaments and Zeetius Federation accredit, nominate and allocate officials to each race, and the federation keeps a record of every official's appointments across the season.
Accreditation and hospitality
Triathlon athletes collect a race pack before they race, and championships bring athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers from across a region. Zeetius Connect accredits them online before they arrive, so each person collects their credential with the access they need, and QR validation keeps entry to restricted areas and athlete services moving.
Multi-day championships also need accommodation, meals and transport for teams and officials. Zeetius Connect plans and tracks hospitality for every guest and records event expenses as they happen, so the people side of a race weekend runs alongside the race itself rather than in a separate set of spreadsheets.
Results and rankings
Triathletes want to know two things after a race: where they finished overall and where they finished in their category. Results on Zeetius are published by race, gender and age group as soon as the officials confirm them, and every finisher can receive a certificate generated in bulk from the results. Live scoring for your race format can be discussed with our team.
Across a season, results become rankings. Zeetius Federation prepares rank lists from real results by category, which is how a federation runs a national series, an age-group ranking or a selection list for junior development squads and international age-group teams. Each ranking can be traced back to the races that produced it.
Zet AI answers questions about a federation's own data in plain language, such as which juniors have improved most across a series or how participation in each age group has changed. It can also estimate entries per race, so organisers plan the right number of waves, officials and volunteers.
Clubs, coaching and federations
Triathlon clubs coach three sports at once, with swim sessions, bike rides and runs in the same week. Zeetius Academy manages athletes, training groups, plans, attendance and assessments, so a coach can see each athlete's progress across all three disciplines. Fees, coach payroll and expense claims sit in the same system, and parents of junior athletes see their own child's records.
Zeetius Federation registers athletes, clubs and officials once and keeps them current through renewals, transfers and seasons, with fees paid online and reminders sent by email and SMS. National, state and regional bodies each have their own access, so a region manages its own clubs and races while the federation sees every member and every sanctioned event.
Ztream by Zeetius can stream a race with interviews, highlights and sponsor placements, giving athletes' families and sponsors a way to follow the day. Coaches and clubs can list in the Zeetius Sports Directory, where people new to triathlon can find a club or coach near them.
