Football on Zeetius
Zeetius runs football competitions from the first team entry to the final whistle: squads, fixtures, pitches, referees and results in one connected record. Matches are scored live from the touchline and appear on the Zeetius live score board with the score and the match clock, whether the event is an 11-a-side league or a weekend of small-sided games.
Clubs and schools enter teams with named squads, and eligibility is checked as players are registered.
League, pool and knockout fixtures are generated and scheduled across every pitch and kick-off slot you have.
Goals, the running clock, half-time, extra time and penalty shoot-outs appear on the public live score board as they happen.
Competition formats
Football competitions come in more shapes than most sports. A district league plays every team home and away across a season, a school cup is a single-elimination knockout over two days, and a youth festival groups teams into pools before the winners and runners-up move into a knockout stage. Zeetius Tournaments runs knockouts, round robins, leagues and team events, so the same organisation can use one system for all of them.
Each competition is set up with its own categories, such as under-12, under-14, under-17, open, boys, girls or mixed, and its own format. Small-sided football, such as five-a-side and seven-a-side, sits alongside the full 11-a-side game, with the match length and squad size set for each category rather than fixed by the software.
League football is decided by a points table, usually three points for a win and one for a draw, with goal difference and head-to-head results used to separate teams level on points. Rules differ between federations and age groups, so tell us how your competition ranks teams and we will set the format up to match it.
Teams and squads
In football the entry is a team, but the record that matters is the squad. Each club, school or academy registers its team online against the tournament listing, names its players and pays the entry fee in the same step. Eligibility, such as the age limit for a category, is checked as players register, so an over-age player is caught at entry rather than after a protest on match day.
For a federation or association, the squad is drawn from players who are already members. Zeetius Federation keeps one record for every player, club and official, with renewals and transfers kept up to date across seasons, so a player who moves club mid-season is registered for the right team. Zeetius Connect then accredits players, coaches and team staff before they arrive, which matters at multi-day events where whole squads need entry, meals and accommodation.
Football organisers also have to track cautions and dismissals, because accumulated yellow cards and red cards lead to suspensions in later matches. Suspension rules vary from one competition to the next, so we agree with each organiser how discipline is recorded and checked before teams are named for their next fixture.
Fixtures and pitches
A football tournament is limited by its pitches. A venue might have two full-size pitches and four small-sided ones, each available for a fixed number of kick-off slots a day, and every team needs enough rest between games. Zeetius Tournaments generates the fixtures and the schedule automatically, then lets the organiser move a match to another pitch or time as the day unfolds.
Knockout football needs room for matches that do not finish in normal time. When a tied knockout tie goes to extra time or a penalty shoot-out, the next match on that pitch starts later, and the schedule has to absorb the delay. Running every pitch from one schedule means the organiser can see which games are running late and adjust the rest of the day before teams are left waiting.
Referees and assistant referees are nominated and allocated to matches through technical official management, so the organiser knows who is on which pitch and nobody is booked for two kick-offs at once. On a crowded festival day, when a quarter-final runs into extra time, the organiser can see at a glance which referee is still on the pitch and who is free for the next match.
Live scoring
Football on Zeetius is scored live on the Zeetius multi-sport scoresheet, operated by an official at the side of the pitch. Each goal is recorded as it is scored, and the match clock runs with the game, so spectators, parents and teams who cannot be at the venue follow the match on the public live score board at zeetius.com/live/livescore.
Each football match appears as a live card showing the two teams, the score and the running match clock, together with the stage of the game. The card marks the first half, half-time and the second half, and switches to extra time or a penalty shoot-out when a knockout match needs one, with the shoot-out score shown alongside the score from open play.
Because each goal is entered once, at the pitch, the same result moves into the fixtures and the competition record without anyone retyping it from a referee's notebook at the end of the day. In a pool stage that matters: the teams waiting to learn whether they have qualified for the knockout round see the results as soon as each match ends.
Federations and associations
A football association manages more than matches. It affiliates clubs, registers players each season, handles transfers, appoints referees and sanctions the competitions run under its name. Zeetius Federation brings these together, with separate workspaces for national, state, district and club tiers, so a district can manage its own members while the association sees every club and every competition.
Once results are in, rankings and certificates are prepared from the real outcomes, and every participant in a school or youth tournament can receive a certificate generated straight from the results. Membership fees and entries are paid online, and automatic email and SMS messages tell clubs about renewals, fixtures and results without anyone sending them by hand.
The association's public website, membership cards and certificates can carry its own name and branding rather than ours. Zet AI lets the association's office ask questions about its own membership and participation data in plain language, such as how many under-14 players registered in each district this season, instead of building a new spreadsheet for every board meeting.
Academies and clubs
Football academies run many age groups at once, often across several centres, with coaches taking different batches on different evenings. Zeetius Academy holds a profile for every player, records attendance at each session and keeps assessments over the term, so a head coach can see which players are progressing and which need attention.
Training plans and timetables are built once and run across batches, coaches and pitches, and parents see their own child's attendance, assessments and fees in the app. Fees, coach payroll and expense claims sit in the same system as the training, and academies with franchises can manage each centre separately while seeing the whole organisation together.
Where an academy owns or hires pitches, Courtz by Zeetius handles bookings for any bookable facility, including recurring slots booked once for the season, so academy batches and outside bookings for five-a-side games never claim the same pitch at the same time.
Products
Every product shares the same players, events and results, so data entered once works everywhere.
