Courtz by Zeetius: Court Booking Built to Actually Fill the Courts
Real-time availability, recurring and block bookings, no-show release and utilisation reporting — for venues that want the daytime as full as the evening.
Last month we argued that the biggest commercial problem at a community sports venue is not the contested evening peak — it is the eighty empty court-hours nobody is counting. Today we are shipping the product built for that argument.
Courtz by Zeetius is court booking and venue management, designed around utilisation rather than around transactions.
What it does
- Live availability, publicly. Every court, every slot, bookable from a phone without a phone call. If a slot is free at 2pm on a Tuesday, somebody can find it and take it.
- Recurring and block bookings. The academy that wants Court 3 every weekday at 4pm, and the corporate group that wants two courts every second Thursday, book once instead of fourteen times.
- Confirmation and automatic release. Unconfirmed peak bookings return to the pool on a timer you set, so a no-show becomes available inventory instead of an empty court.
- Flexible pricing. Different rates by time band, day, member tier or booking length — because a 7pm Saturday court and an 11am Wednesday court are not the same product.
- Coach and equipment allocation. Book the court with the coach, or with the machine, as one reservation.
- Utilisation reporting. The number the whole thing exists for: what proportion of your court-hours sold, by slot, by day, by month, over time.
Built on top of a tournament platform, deliberately
Courtz is not a standalone booking tool that happens to be ours. It shares its court model with the rest of the platform, and that turns out to matter more than we expected.
When a venue hosts a tournament run on Zeetius Tournaments, the courts that tournament needs are blocked in Courtz automatically. No double-booking a court that is hosting a quarter-final, and no manual blackout entry the week before. When the tournament finishes early, the courts come back into public availability.
The same connection runs the other way. An academy managed in Zeetius Academy books its batch courts through Courtz, so batch scheduling and court availability are one conversation instead of two systems that periodically contradict each other.
Three taps, not a phone call
The friction target we set was that a returning player should be able to book their usual court in under fifteen seconds, one-handed, on a phone with poor signal. Every design decision downstream of that — cached availability, optimistic confirmation, a shortlist of your recent courts and times on the home screen — comes from taking that target literally.
Who it is for
Standalone venues and clubs, academies that own or lease courts, and associations that manage facilities alongside competition. It works on its own, and it gets better if the venue is already running tournaments or academy operations on Zeetius.
